It is now just over a week before we leave the UK along with Lily and Henry our two Burmese cats. Life has been hectic now for some time whilst we have been organising our lives ready for our trip.
We are now on count down with the furniture being packed and stored on Thursday 1st May. Lily and Henry are due to visit the vet for their final clearance before flying to Spain on 6th May.
Our current planned itinerary for this year :
Arrive at Songster 6th May in Almerimar, Costa del Sol, Spain. Complete refit and prepare Songster for the new season. Introduce Lily and Henry to their new home and settle them in.
Early June we propose sailing to the Balearics for a holiday! Well we shall need one after all the work.
From the Balearics we shall sail west and south again to Gibraltar where we shall be picking up our crew member Rhona who will be sailing with us to Lanzarote early September.
During the remainder of September, the whole of October and a short time in November we shall cruise the Canary Islands before heading for Las Palmas on Gran Canaria,where Rhona will join us again, ready to take part in the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers). This is a rally organised by World Crusing Ltd. Just over 200 yachts participate in the annual ARC crossing which leaves Gran Canaria on Sunday 23rd November for St Lucia. We hope the crossing will take us around 21 days depending, of course, on the winds and the weather.
